The Mokola Session @ Grove House / Schull / 02 June 2012 @ 6pm
I’m delighted to welcome to Schull one of Botswana’s most sought after performers, the stunning Shanti-Lo, with legendary guitarist John Selolwane and DJ Soares Katumbela for this exclusive performance along with West Cork’s finest Maurice Seezer.
Shanti-Lo, John Selolwane and DJ Soares (Street Horn Promotions) will be flying in especially for The Mokola Session at Grove House, Schull (02-06-12), from their tour in Sweden.
After their visit to West Cork,John Selolwane will be setting off straight to London reuniting with original crew and Paul Simon for the 25th Anniversary Tour of the classic ‘GRACELANDS’ album.
And to top it off we will be joined by my favourite pianist Maurice Seezer. For those who don’t know Maurice…who teamed up with Gavin Friday for many years along with soundtrack collaborations with Bono, Jim Sheridan and Robert Altman…you’ll find him at the helm again for this years Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival here in Schull at the end of May (24-27).
Before I go…the name for The Mokola Session was inspired by the very special Mokola Palm…very excited to be weaving some new sounds together!

Sunny Sunday in West Cork…walk on the beach, coffees onboard a friends boat, a quick pint at Hackett’s …where local legend singer/songwriter and neighbour was sharing his beautiful songs..so got to end a stunning day doing what I love; singing and happily harmonising! Grateful for the mighty craic!
